Joshua Tay is a 3rd year PhD student from Mater Research-UQ, Brisbane. He completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland with First Class Honours in 2012 and proceeded with his PhD. He has recently won the 2015 Mater Research Travel Award (value of $1000). His research interest in stem cells has led him to explore the role of the bone marrow microenvironment in regulating haematopoietic stem cells both in homeostasis and regeneration following stress.
